1A man in New York at the age of 54 was shoved on to the train tracks of an underground subway by a pan handler that was harassing people. As some people were and weren't around, a photographer for New York Post, was nearby to try to help him, after failing he claims that he used his camera to attempt to stop the conductor of a train that was coming in fast about to run the old man over. There is a lot of controversy over what the real intentions were of the photographer and if he actually tried to help the man.
2. The Photographer said while he was trying to stop the train conductor he was showing his flash to warn him and within that process he took photos.
3. I feel the photographer should not have taken the photo and really focused on helping the man that fell.
4.No he did not do the best thing he could have done. He really shouldn't have even touched his camera whenever someones life was on the line and completely should have focused on getting the man that was about to die.
5. The photo on the cover of the magazine was horrible to me and shouldn't have happened. I know that if i was the man that was on the train tracks, the last thing i would want is for the photo of me about to die, be everywhere.
6.To a journalist, capturing images of life as they happen is more important to them rather then stopping bad things I'm sure, as we can see many examples of it as above. Im sure the reason for this is that it means a better story and more money in their pockets, the more dramatic it is. In reality, what should be more important is saving peoples life.
7. Yes it is acceptable as if the photographer photographs something that is bad and life threatening of someone else then they should defiantly involve themselves in it to help out and not just sit their and be the guy that just took a photo for money or publicity.
8.Yes photographer should avoid influencing photos as it can cause more negative things to happen as the after math.
9.The most appropriate response to someone in the photographers position would be to own up to what they did and not lie about it to the public or anyone else.
